Bali.. India abroad
"Open the umbrella and jump into the rain to enjoy Bali to the fullest", said the guide. The moment we stepped out into the pouring rains with drops thumping hard on the umbrella, a carved carpet of stepped paddy fields stretched out till eternity. It was on the third day that we reached Talalang rice fields. A mesmerising feast for nature lovers served smack in the lap of nature, Talalang rice fields are just piece of what Bali offers.
A honeymoon plan and search for budget holiday locations lead to a list of probable places to visit. Bali was one among them, though not on the top, I must admit. Ease of travel from Chennai, cheap packages and visa on arrival were reasons good enough for us to finalise our would be honeymoon destination. Travel agent was decided, tickets were booked and the wait began.
Though the best season to be in Bali is from May to July, months just before and after the peak season can get you some really catchy deals.

As direct flights are not available from Chennai to Denpasar, we flew from Chennai to Bali via Kuala Lumpur. A long flight indeed to take for a pleasure trip. That night was for rest and to recuperate. The tour began with Barong dance, traditional Bali dance performed by artists in colourful attires . The mythology based performance takes you one step closer to Balinese culture. Surprisingly, though a part of Indonesia, Bali is basked in Hindu culture so much so that the roads are full of characters from Mahabharata. Following pictures would speak better than words.

Being a tropical island, Bali is richly endowed with eye-catching beaches. Water sports and dolphin cruises are highly recommended for adventure lovers.

A symbolic icon of Bali island is the Tanah Lot temple. Situated on the shore where waves wither away, Tanah Lot temple stands with its head held high as a symbol of Bali's excellence. The scene of sun setting at the backdrop of Tanah Lot temple is awe inspiring.

A holiday destination par excellence, Bali has a complete package for adventureres and nature lovers. Hospitality with which tourists are welcomed in Bali is noteworthy. Only thing to note is that English is not very common in Bali, hence having a guide with you is really helpful. Royal villas along with exclusive food and spa is an icing on cake for the tourists visiting Bali.
With fond memories and few un-detachable threads, we bid adieu to INDIA ABROAD.
